MANILA – Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo got to a rousing start in the 2019 Philippine Premier League after a 3-0 victory over Globe Green Archers United Football Club on Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium here.

Arnel Amita, Ilonggo Jovin Bedic and Yannick Tuazon came up with a conversion each for the Iloilo-based football club to gain the early advantage in the five-team field with three points.

Amita immediately put Kaya Iloilo on top at the 13th minute as he curled the ball from inside the box from a pass by Darryl Roberts. It was quickly doubled three minutes later with Bedic’s hit from a feed by Tuazon.

Green Archers attempted to pull one back several time but to no avail until Kaya Iloilo converted its third goal of the match with Tuazon slotting the ball easily against the defenders at the 79th minute.

In the first game, the Philippine Air Force Football Club forced a 2-2 draw with Mendiola 1991 Football Club to mark their return in the competitive football competition.

Mendiola 1991 took the lead twice, first on an early conversion from Nimrod Balabat and another after Roberto Corsame’s 58th minute goal.

The Air Force, however, were able to equalize after Rodolf Bebangco and the 45-year-old Yanti Bersales got on the scoresheet in the first and second half, respectively./PN
