IN CELEBRATION of the National Women’s Month, Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) Regional Office 6 underscores the critical role of women in the society.
“We re-affirm our commitment in ensuring that all women in the region have access to quality and affordable healthcare so we have expanded benefits exclusive for women,” said Lazaro T. Tabsing, Acting Regional Vice President of PhilHealth 6.
PhilHealth has increased its breast cancer package from P100,000 to P1.4 million; caesarean delivery package from P19,000 to P37,050; and maternity care package from P8,000 to P12,675 for hospitals and P15,600 for non-hospitals.
Last year, PhilHealth paid P1,610,860,613.77 for 95,149 claims arising from different women conditions including normal delivery, caesarian section primary, caesarian delivery, chemotherapy administration and routine obstetric care.
With this year’s theme, “Babae sa lahat ng sektor, aangat ang bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”, PhilHealth 6 organized impactful activities to honor women.
Among the activities lined up were Livelihood Training on Mushroom Farming, Outreach Program for Female Fisherfolk in Roxas City, Outreach Program with Women Deprived of Liberty in Bacolod City, and WomENTREPRENEUR Market Bazaar at PhilHealth Regional Office 6.
“We believe that women’s month is a powerful platform to celebrate and pay tribute to our wives, mothers, sisters and female colleagues because of their vital role in our society.” Tabsing added.
Meanwhile, Tabsing disclosed that PhilHealth will release more enhanced women’s benefits in 2025./PN
