MANILA – The national government is planning to start its coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination rollout to the A4 and A5 priority groups, according to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. on Tuesday.
It will be announced next week when is the scheduled inoculation of essential frontliners and indigent population.
Ini-inventory ang supply na darating at current supply,” said Galvez, who is the chief implementer of the National Task Force against COVID-19.
Galvez stated that vaccines donated by the COVAX facility can only be used for A1, A2, A3, and A5 groups, while those purchased by the government are eligible for all groups.
Testing czar Vivencio Dizon, for his part, said that economic frontliners or those belonging to the priority group A4 can be inoculated by their companies or may register through their local government units.
The country is aiming to vaccinate around 12.8 million essential workers while 16 million for the indigent population.
So far, the government has rolled out their COVID-19 immunization program for frontline health workers (A1), indigent senior citizens (A2), and the remaining senior citizens and persons with comorbidities (A3)./PN
