KELLEY Day bagged the Best National Costume award with her Filipiniana costume in the Miss Eco International pageant.
On Instagram, Kelley flaunted her award-winning gown designed by Filipino designer Louis Pangilinan.
“It was such an honor to wear this beautiful creation in the National Costume Competition of Miss Eco International,” she said.
She continued, “Thankful for all the hard work and creativity of the team that was behind this. Thank you Miss Eco International for the recognition – this is for the Philippines.”
On his personal Instagram page, Louis Pangilinan said that the national costume was his modern take to the classic Filipiniana terno that is embedded in the country’s rich culture and history.
The national dress is embellished with hand-painted art and is fully hand-embroidered. The bell sleeves are premeditated with beads and crystals and are then accentuated with tassels made from fibers that were extracted by hand and woven together to make a one-of-a-kind creation.(GMA News)
