PIA Wurtzbach could not stop talking about her recent encounter with Captain Marvel herself, Hollywood actress Brie Larson.
Speaking to reporters at the Philippine premiere of the Marvel Studios production on Tuesday, Wurtzbach said she is still in cloud nine after the video of her interview with the Oscar winner was finally released online earlier that day.
“I was so nervous going into the interview. I didn’t know what to expect. I watched a few interviews of her just so I get an idea of what it’s going to be like. She was very pleasant. She was nice. She even laughed at my silly joke. It was really fun,” she said.
Wurtzbach also recalled an instance where she and Larson had a brief moment after the interview.
“I am really kilig because when I did the interview with her, she was saying goodbye to everyone. She was about to leave but she came back to me and she shook my hand and she said, ‘Thank you for everything that you do.’ Sobrang kinilig ako. I really feel like I met a superhero,” she said.
Wurtzbach said she feels fortunate because “not everyone gets invited to meet her and to talk to her.”
“When I was doing the interview, she’s so pleasant and so nice. Na-starstruck talaga ako,” she said. “I am just really grateful that Marvel invited me to be a part of this and to interview her and to be able to meet her.”
When asked what’s her takeaway from their meeting, the former Miss Universe said: “That she takes her work very seriously. If you ask her kasi about work, seryoso siya. If you ask her about the training that she went through, you can see. And also when you talk to her about women empowerment, she’s very passionate about it as well. Those are the things I think are very dear to her heart.”
“Captain Marvel” hits cinemas nationwide on Wednesday, March 6, just in time for International Women’s Month. (ABS-CBN News)
