EVERYONE is already feeling excited for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant this year, but 2015 queen Pia Wurtzbach won’t be able to join the festivities this time.
Pia confirmed on her Instagram account that she will skip this year’s coronation night after one of her followers asked her if she already has tickets to the show. She answered that she would unfortunately not be there because she has to be in Japan to film her travel show.
“My travel show was invited by the tourism board of Japan to feature a festival in Fukuoka.” She also shared that she even had to say no to the organization’s offer for her to do the backstage hosting during the event.
“MUO (Miss Universe Organizaton) invited me to be backstage host with CHI and I really want to! But it would also be impolite of me to cancel my trip to Japan. Government invitation ‘yun. At may mga visa na kami. Sayang. If I had known sooner baka nagawan ko ng paraan.”
Pia’s travel show “Pia’s Postcards” is airing on Metro Channel.
The country’s Miss Universe representative Gazini Ganados is gunning for a back-to-back title as a follow up to Catriona Gray’s big win last year. The pageant will be held on Dec. 9 in Atlanta, United States. (Cosmo)
