Pia Wurtzbach tells netizens not to victim shame sister Sarah

LAST month, Pia Wurtzbach’s younger sister Sarah Wurtzbach-Manze blasted her in a series of controversial social media posts against the beauty queen-actress and their mother Cheryl Alonzo Tyndall.

The younger Wurtzbach sibling shared just how hurt and upset she was that Pia had been ignoring her instead of reaching out to her to apologize over the “hurtful” statements her elder sister had made.

Since her sister’s posts, Pia had kept silent on the issue. But in her most recent Instagram post last Nov. 2, she finally addressed the incident and requested for netizens to understand and respect their family’s privacy during this challenging time.

She wrote: “I’m sure a lot of you know that my family is going through some issues at the moment and most of it is posted online. This is a very hurtful time for our family. My sister, especially, had a very traumatic experience and I humbly ask everyone to be kind to her.

The beauty queen added that her family hopes people would not put the blame on anyone.

“We are trying to resolve our family issues privately and I ask for your support by not trying to put the blame on anyone and stop victim shaming. Please be mindful on your posts and comments to Sarah, mabigat ang pinagdadaanan niya ngayon. Bilang anak at kapatid, napakasakit sa akin na makitang nagkakaganito ang mga taong mahal ko.”

Pia and Sarah’s mom Cheryl has also recently explained her side of the story regarding Sarah’s allegations.

According to Cheryl, she confronted Sarah about the issue when they were still in the Philippines but her daughter refused to talk about experiencing abuse back then.(Push
