BACOLOD City – An 18-year-old man was injured after an improvised explosive device was thrown at him on Matti Street in Barangay Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Resident Rommel Rosareal sustained an injury on the right leg, a police report showed.
Rosareal was walking the street with his friends around 12:05 a.m. on Monday when a group of men threw the improvised explosive device known as “pillbox” at them for no apparent reason, police said.
Village watchman Ferdinand Lamella was able to arrest the 18-year-old Edwin Corbita, a member of the group.
He then turned over Corbita to the cops.
From what the police gathered so far, it was a certain “Jomarie Tapangan” who threw the pillbox at Rosareal and his friends.
Officers from the Bago City police station were still locating and identifying the other suspects as of this writing./PN
