BACOLOD City – The pilot coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination for children aged 12 to 17 years old here will be held on Oct. 29.

One hundred minors are set to be inoculated at the Riverside Medical Center, said Em Ang, executive director of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

The regular vaccination will kick off on Nov. 5.

“We are identifying hospitals that are not congested to serve as vaccination sites. We do not want pediatric patients and their companions exposed,” she said.

EOC records (as of Oct. 25) showed 4,783 minors have registered online.

The would-be vaccinees must bring their identification cards, while companions must have proof of filiation such as birth certificates if they are parents.

Pfizer vaccines would be used in the pediatric vaccination, Ang said./PN
