ILOILO City – The Department of Trade and Industry- Aklan once again will hold its annual marketing activity, the Aklan Piña and Fiber Festival 2019, with the theme: “Exploring Digital Opportunities to Maximize Growth” on April 24-29, 2019 at the Trade Hall, Capitol Grounds, Kalibo, Aklan.
The provincial trade fair, on its 21st year celebration, aims to exhibit new designs and products of eighty Aklanon entrepreneurs, especially in piña and abaca fabrics as well as to establish market linkages with domestic and international markets.
The week-long fair will feature a wide array of products from various municipalities and industries in Aklan. These would include indigenous fibers and crafts, gifts, housewares and furnishings, processed food and pasalubong products, and health & wellness.
This marketing event is a public-private partnership project of DTI-Aklan, Provincial Government of Aklan, Hugod Aklanon Producers Association Inc., Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority, Aklan Piña and Indigenous Fibers Manufacturers and Traders Association, and Aklan Horticultural Society.
DTI hopes to attract more visitors and buyers for this year’s fair as it coincides with the week-long celebration of Aklan Day. The exhibit will start at 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily with an opening ceremony on April 24, at 2 p.m./PN
