‘Pinoy’

WHAT kind of idiots would build their houses in floodways and flood-prone areas then complain when it floods and blame it on the government? Those idiots are usually called “resilient Pinoys”.

It was typhoon signal No.3 in Metro Manila and ABS-CBN and GMA dolomite watch patrols were totally fixated in monitoring that small dolomite beach along Roxas Boulevard; the three percent might miss the very important developing news that garbage and debris was dumped by the storm surge.

Really, garbage and debris on the dolomite beach after a storm is news? That is the usual-morning-after-a-storm scene you see in Boracay, Villa Beach and that small beach in Fort San Pedro.

Of course, one must understand that mainstream media cannot link those natural occurrence to President Duterte and put him in a bad light while anything happening to the “dolomite beach” is shit to throw at him “in the service of the Filipino”.

Unfortunately for ABS-CBN, the “dolomite beach” withstood the storm surge so garbage and debris will have to do for the moment.

If you’re in the mood to blame anyone for the recent flooding in Metro Manila, then blame Cory Aquino and her nincompoop son Noynoy.

Cory cancelled the completion of Ferdinand Marcos’ flood control project in Marikina, the remnants of which is the Mangahan Floodway, now a residential area with cheap condominiums and low-cost subdivisions (just imagine this living in a floodway).

And who can forget Noynoy’s cancellation of the Laguna Flood Control Project which is now costing us more than one billion dollars in legal penalties, not to mention turning Metro Manila into an extension of Manila and Laguna Bay everytime there’s heavy rain.

Did anybody bother to ask this so-called Makabayan bloc if they want to end this more than 50-year insurgency that has been killing thousands of Filipinos?

Etta Rosales of Akbayan is full of lies but by far the most preposterous is that she was raped during martial law.

Really, would anybody in his right mind do it? That is up there with Maria Ressa’s claim that she receives hundreds of rape threats every day. One look at these two women and even just the thought of raping them defies reason and logic. You need to have your head examined for harbouring such thoughts.

As I said, I never insult people. I just describe them accurately.

Meanwhile, Debold Sinas is the new Philippine National Police chief, you know, the “mañanita guy”. You got to love Digong’s twisted sense of humour…hehehe.

When the news came out on mainstream and social media, the first thing that came to mind was: Has the usual suspects in media already linked and blamed President Duterte for the shooting of a judge at Manila City hall?

And finally, congratulations to Rappler. It seems they have linked President Duterte to the shooting of that judge in Manila City hall.

Of course, nobody was surprised. It was rather expected. It would have been a disappointment if they did not.

Which official government body in the US of A other than CNN declared Joe Biden as the president?

By the way, Kamala Harris is Indian/Jamaican-American. She is not African-American. Her mother was from India and her father was Jamaican, meaning she’s no Rosa Parks. She’s a Bollywood and Bob Marley fusion.

And we segue to our title:

Pinoy is a demonym referring to the Filipino people in the Philippines and their culture as well as to overseas Filipinos in the Filipino diaspora. A Pinoy with mix of foreign ancestry is called Tisoy, a shortened word for Mestizo.

An unspecified number of Filipinos refer to themselves as Pinoy or sometimes the feminine Pinay instead of the standard term, Filipino. Although Pinoy and Pinay are regarded as derogatory by some younger Filipino-Americans, the terms have been widely used and are in mainstream usage, particularly among members of the Filipino masses and Filipino Americans.

I am a Filipino of Spanish ancestry and preferred to be addressed as one. I never considered nor call myself Pinoy; I find that term derogatory and demeaning. It is akin to an African-American or any person who is not Caucasian being referred to or called “nigger”. It is also not cool or hip and it just shows ignorance and stupidity.

When someone calls you Pinoy, it is a derogatory insult and you have all the right to punch him in the nose. But it would advisable to just ignore him with a bat of an eyelash./PN
