AS a fellow father, Piolo Pascual can make sense of the hardships a single parent like Ryan Arebuabo goes through in having to raise not one, but two daughters on his own.
Ryan is the man behind the “selfless father” who made waves on social media after being captured by a netizen contently watching his children eat at a fast food restaurant back in 2017. His story was later featured in the drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” in which his character was convincingly portrayed by no less than the hunk actor himself.
This alone is a huge honor for Ryan, but Piolo – fully aware of the state of their family – knew that the father needed a helping hand, and so he decided to step in to sponsor the children’s education.
Last Sunday, Ryan and his daughters watched ASAP Natin ‘To live in the studio to personally thank Piolo, who happened to be celebrating his 42nd birthday on the noontime show.
“Lumuhod ako sa kasiyahan. Tuwang-tuwa po ako noon. Masaya po ako noon,” said the father of the actor’s unexpected gift.
Aside from a word of thanks from Ryan, his children, Rose Ann and Rose Mae, showed their gratitude to Piolo by way of giving him a birthday note. (Push)
