ILOILO City – To curb crimes this holiday season, the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) ordered the deployment of more police personnel in the field.

Improve police presence to secure every individual, Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. told unit commanders and police chiefs during a command visit yesterday at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) here.

“Exert more efforts…in convergence areas…We will celebrate Christmas face-to-face after two years na walang celebration dahil sa (coronavirus) pandemic,” Azurin said.

On the other hand, Azurin praised the PRO-6 for implementing reforms to improve its personnel’s morale and welfare, as well as their performance in the fight against criminality, illegal drugs, insurgency, and other counterterrorism operations in securing the territorial sovereignty of Western Visayas.

“Sa darating na araw lalo pa nating paigtingin ang ating kampanya laban sa illegal drugs, corruption, terrorism, and criminality,” he said./PN
