MANILA – Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors will be aiming for a second straight win as it returns with a strengthened lineup in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference, which will open on Saturday at San Juan Arena.
With the lineup spiced by two American imports, Lady Warriors head coach Rommel Abella is confident of the team’s chances in the season-ending tournament.
“Iyong mga players prepared na,” said Abella. “May konting pressure kasi kami ang champion sa Open Conference, pero mas nagiging motivation namin iyon para mag-champion uli.”
Leading the way for Lady Warriors are Michelle Gumabao, Myla Pablo, Elaine Kasilag, Gyselle Sy, Desiree Dadang, and Rose Marie Vargas, who was earlier reported to play for Bureau of Customs Transformers.
Lady Warriors also tapped the services of Americans Bree Mackie and Andrea Kacsits as reinforcements while also signing up Filipino-American Iris Tolenada, who played for the franchise in the Philippine Superliga.
Gone from the reigning Open Conference champions Lady Warriors roster are veterans Rossan Fajardo and Lutgarda Malaluan, who have both returned to their mother units in the military.
