POKWANG penned a post dedicated to all the hardworking moms out there.
Since confirming her separation from former partner Lee O’Brian in 2021, Pokwang has continued to show her strength and perseverance in moving on and raising her two daughters on her own as a single parent.
Her younger daughter Malia is with Lee while her older daughter Ria Mae is from her former relationship with a Japanese national.
As she focuses on maintaining her business and being a hands-on mom, the 52-year-old actress also shared how she maintains her enviable figure on and off the screen in her Instagram post last Feb. 25.
In her post, Pokwang urged the public not to blame other mothers who have seemingly let their bodies go because of the pressures of raising children.
She wrote: “The best revenge is to be fit and healthy, not to impress someone or anybody, dapat fit para sa mga anak lalo na kung single mom ka. Hindi dapat sinisisi ang isang ina kung napabayaan ang katawan kaya naghanap ng iba si mister, siguro kaya napabayaan kasi kakaalaga sating mga anak? Kakaisip pano tayo palalakihin ng maayos? hindi maka pag pa salon kasi kulang sa budget? kakainin nalang ng mga anak, pang baon sa school pang tuition fee.”
She went on: “Kaya wag natin kutyain ang katawan ng isang babae lalo na kung nanay dahil para mo narin sinisi sarili mong ina na nagpabaya dahil sa pagmamahal sayo. Ang ganda ng katawan ay kumukupas at babalik sa alabok pero pagmamahal ng isang anak ay walang kamatayan.
Since confirming the separation, Pokwang has been regularly sharing on her social media feed how her Malia helps her move on and keeps her happy when they spend quality time together at home.
Aside from starting her online business of different food products, Pokwang also recently announced that she is now also a real estate agent in one of the properties in Bataan.
Pokwang is currently part of the cast of the Prime Video digital series “Ten Little Mistresses” where she plays the role of Babet. Other cast members include Cherry Pie Picache, Agot Isidro, Carmi martin, Arci Munoz, Eugene Domingo, Sharlene San Pedro, Kate Alejandrino, Christian Bables, and John Arcilla. (PUSH)
