Police 2 two houses, seize firearms, ammos

ILOILO City – Police raided two houses in Badiangan and Batad towns in Iloilo province. They suspected the dwellers of owning unlicensed firearms.

In the Badiangan operation, the 39-year-old Jimmy Nobleza was not around when the officers arrived, a police report showed.

Police searched his house in Barangay Cabanga-an at around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday and found a 12-gauge shotgun and two bullets.

Officers have yet to determine the whereabouts of Nobleza as of this writing.

In Barangay Pasayan, Batad on the same day, police recovered from the house of Lenard Diel a .38 revolver with bullets.

Diel failed to present documents proving his legal ownership of the weapon. He was arrested and taken to the Batad police station at 5 a.m., police said.

Nobleza and Diel face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
