ILOILO City – Two residents of the component city of Passi in Iloilo province have been arrested for alleged involvement in “bookies.”
Officers caught them soliciting bets for the illegal numbers game in Barangay Embang Grande, Passi City, a police report stated.
Wilfredo Devecais, 69, of the same village and Cheryl Casamayor, 43, of Sara Road, Passi City were detained at the Passi City police station.
Seized from them upon their arrest at around 8:20 a.m. last Friday were gambling paraphernalia and P1,240 worth of bet money.
