BACOLOD City-Members of the law enforcement teams of Bacolod City Police Office apprehended 17 persons allegedly involved in illegal cockfighting activity in this city, in a separate illegal gambling operation on Jan. 30.
Police Station 6 arrested the 12 individuals after they were caught engaging in illegal cockfighting at about 11 a.m., in Barangay Tackling.
Arrested were Junry Genon; Angelito Ponteras; Anselmo Jacolo; Salem Romano; Jose Justiniani; Felipe Jaco; Ronel Cebua; Oliver Osliva; Joel Sinforoso; Leonardo Rochar Jr.; Ian Yasay; and Leonardo Rochar Sr..
While Police Station 8 apprehended Richard Torda; Jaime Alit; Ronel San Luis; Junel De La Cruz; and Jeffrey Arbana.
They were caught at about 12:30 p.m.,in Barangay Tangub.
A cash amount of about P3,700 was confiscated from the suspects in the two police operations, aside from the fighting cocks and paraphernalia recovered from them.
The suspects will face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449, and they were detained in the respective police stations.
