Police chiefs target 2 drug dealers a month

ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) is urging all police chiefs to meet their quota on drug operations or face administrative sanction.

Each police chief must conduct at least two positive drug operations in a month.

“For failure to do so, a police chief would be meted administrative punishment,” said Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, ICPO spokesperson.

The regional director of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) had imposed the quota after seeing the encouraging performance of every police chief in anti-illegal drug operations.

On the other hand, Senior Superintendent Ruperto Floro, ICPO director, said he had likewise noted accomplishments on the part of the city police in the same drive.

“With or without quota, I could see that everyone is performing his duty,” said Floro. “The quota only serves as a challenge to hurdle.”

The ICPO had arrested 162 drug pushers in six months.

Floro said they are closely coordinating with the Barangay Anti-Drug- Abuse Councils in strengthening their operations.

“We have already a list of drug dealers to be arrested,” Floro said./PN
