BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Police Station 8 is trying to get in touch with the family of 55-year-old Ronald St. Jean, the Canadian national who murdered his Filipina wife, Liezel Demerin-St. Jean, before taking his own life.
Police Station 8 commander Captain Glen Montaño said they emailed St. Jean’s family in Canada and asked them if they want to claim St. Jean’s remains.
Montaño said St. Jean’s family had been to Bacolod City in the past.
The Canadian’s remains are currently alongside his wife as per request by the Demerin family. The couple’s two sons also wanted to see their father. The two boys are aged seven and 11.
On Friday, May 12, St. Jean stabbed Liezel multiple times during a heated argument in their house at Villa Mikaela Subdivision, Barangay Singcang-Airport, this city.
St. Jean then tried to take his own life by slitting his wrist and stabbing himself in the chest.
The suspect barricaded himself inside the house for three hours before police and barangay tanods were able to enter.
The suspect was declared dead on arrival at the hospital./PN
