Police nab high-value target, seize P605K worth of ‘shabu’

ILOILO – Joint operatives of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Drug Enforcement Unit and New Lucena Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested a high-value individual in a drug buy-bust operation over the weekend in Barangay Dawis, New Lucena town.

The suspect identified as alias “Kanding”, 50, a resident of Barangay Libo-o, Dingle, Iloilo, was caught in possession of around 89 grams of suspected shabu’ with an estimated value of P605,200 at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 23.

The suspect was detained at the New Lucena MPS. He will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky lauded the intensified effort of the IPPO against illegal drugs.

“This was also the product of the people’s vigilance in their locality. Thus, I urge everyone to report to the nearest police unit any information pertaining to individuals engaging in illegal drugs. Rest assured that your identity will be treated with utmost confidentiality,” Wanky said./PN
