BACOLOD City — Pontevedra policemen arrested two suspected robbers of lending collectors in Sitio Mapa, Barangay Antipolo.
Senior Inspector Ariel Pico, Pontevedra police chief, identified the suspects as Russel Ferrer Velez, 41, of Barangay 3, La Carlota City and Roland Casebua, 25, of Barangay Banga, Candoni town.
The lending firm collectors, Romer Deduyco, 41, and Jose Deduyco, 44, of RG Lending Company in Bago City, said they lost P50,000.
Velez was arrested in Barangay RSB in La Carlota City two hours after the robbery on Monday.
His two companions were able to escape.
Police seized a homemade .357caliber firearm with four live ammunitions from Velez.
Meanwhile, Casebua was nabbed in an entrapment operation.
Velez called to meet him in Barangay Miranda La Carlota City on Tuesday.
Casebua was with their other companion “Jun-Jun.”
Upon seeing Velez with the policemen, Casebua and Jun-Jun tried to escape.
After a brief chase in a rice field, Casebua was arrested, while Junjun managed to elude.
The police recovered P5,100 part of the loot and two cell phones owned by the victims.
