ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has assured residents and visitors that the city remains safe, despite recent reports ranking it among cities with a high crime index in Southeast Asia.
The ICPO criticized the data for not reflecting the comprehensive efforts and dedication of the local police in maintaining peace and order. They emphasized that Iloilo City is a peaceful community, thanks to proactive law enforcement measures and robust community partnerships.
A post on the Iloilo City Government’s official Facebook page on May 16, 2024 highlighted the ICPO’s success in combating illegal drugs and crime. It earned high praise from Mayor Jerry Trenas and the community.
ICPO director Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica cited the commitment of the police force to the safety and well-being of all residents.
“Our police force is committed and dedicated to safeguarding the peace, safety, and security of Iloilo City. We work tirelessly to address crime concerns, collaborate with local stakeholders, and implement effective crime prevention strategies,” he said./PN
