ILOILO City – A barangay tanod from Pavia, Iloilo shot the uncle of his lover in Barangay Balabago, Jaro district, a police report showed.
Jinbert Gumape of Barangay Cabugao Sur, Pavia was arrested and detained at the Jaro police station.
The 23-year-old village watch was accused of attacking the 45-year-old Jerel Dadivas of Balabago, Jaro.
The shooting happened at around 12:30 p.m. last Friday in the house of the victim in Balabago, Jaro, stated the police report.
From what the police have gathered, Gumape went to the house of Dadivas to confront him about what he heard – that the latter wanted to harm him.
Gumape then fired at Dadivas, hitting the latter on the neck, investigation showed.
Dadivas was confined in the West Visayas State University Medical Center, also in Jaro./PN
