ILOILO City – Mandurriao police station is profiling the members of a gang who mugged customers at Tata Linagaan on Guzman-Jesena streets in the district last week.
“Tinitingnan natin who these people are,” said Senior Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso, city police director.
Molo police station is also investigating if “Rumpage (Raising Up My People Against God’s Enemies), Inc.” was also behind the grenade-throwing incident in Barangay East Baluarte also last week.
Canieso said the Mandurriao police are delving deeper into the Tata Linagaan commotion.
Sometimes such incidents are not necessarily initiated by the group where the perpetrators belong, he said.
Gangs only become of interest to authorities if they and/or their members commit crimes, said the city police director.
“That is why we have to look ano ba ang sitwasyon ng grupo, ano ba ang interests niya,” said Canieso. “Gagawan natin ng study para ma-identify kung ano dapat ang intervention.”/PN
