BACOLOD City – Motorcycle-riding suspects shot a policeman in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
Senior Police Officer 2 Carlos Alog sustained a gunshot wound on the stomach.
He was rushed to the San Carlos City Hospital but later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod for further treatment.
It was around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday when the 45-year-old Alog was shot, investigators said.
Alog – who is assigned in La Castellana, Negros Occidental – was returning home after he bought cigarettes at the time, they added.
Police were still identifying the suspects and the motive in the shooting./PN
