MANILA – Some Polish companies are interested in investing in the Philippines but are waiting for more details on the government’s plan to “modernize” fiscal incentives, the head of the European business lobby in the country said.
Manila could lose out if fiscal incentives for foreign investors are removed, said Guenter Taus, president of the European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines.
“There’s quite a huge opportunity to increase the trade between Poland and the Philippines,” he told ANC’s Market Edge with Cathy Yang.
“If the government starts withdrawing incentives, I do believe we will lose quite a bit of investment, not only coming in but also existing investment in the Philippines,” Taus said.
Taus was in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday to promote the Philippines as an investment destination. (ABS-CBN News)
