BACOLOD City – The election banning period impedes the appointment of Bacolod’s new city administrator following the resignation of Lawyer Pacifico Maghari III.

In an interview with Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez over the weekend, he told the media that he had already chosen a replacement.

“We are now only waiting for the documentary requirements since the election ban is until Nov. 29,” Benitez said.

He did not reveal the gender of the next city administrator but hinted that the person would be from another local government unit.

The mayor also mentioned introducing the new city administrator to the department heads first.

“It is somebody with whom I can work closely together. I am a hands-on mayor, so I need somebody who can implement my programs properly,” Benitez said.

In the meantime, the mayor has designated assistant city administrator Allyn Luv Dignadice as the officer-in-charge of the City Administrator’s Office.

Maghari left the post on Nov. 1 due to family-related concerns.

Meanwhile, Benitez refused to disclose who he supports for the president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC).

However, the mayor has asked barangay captains to choose someone with “a good working relationship with the city government.”/PN1
