THE Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura (SINAG) on Saturday assured that their surplus supply of local pork and poultry products will last for the next five months at least.
“Punong-puno ng mga alagang baboy ang mga farms natin; ganundin ang mga manukan,” said SINAG chair Rosendo So in a statement.
SINAG reported that its latest inventory of frozen pork in accredited cold storage remains high at 43,398 metric tons.
Poultry products on the other hand are at 56,521 metric tons.
The group said the figures are much higher than the inventory last month or even last year.
SINAG also cited Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data showing that the swine inventory of 12.80 million heads are even 0.7 percent higher compared to last year’s 12.71 million heads. (GMA News)
