BACOLOD City – Lone district representative Greg Gasataya is pushing the creation of Bacolod Ports Authority (BPA) in this city.
Gasataya said he will file a House Bill before the 18th Congress on June 30 establishing the BPA, which will regulate all ports in Bacolod.
The bill aims for an income generation law, the congressman explained.
He added it will empower the local government in deregulating powers from the national level to local.
“If BPA will be established, all revenues from port operations will solely go to the agency,” Gasataya noted.
He said that up to now, the port managed by the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp., is still owned by the city and still gives portion of its revenues to the national government./PN
