KALIBO, Aklan – A ferry terminal which is a part of a reclamation project in Barangay Pook will make the transport of tourists from this capital town to Boracay easy.
The construction of the port located inside a 120-hectare area a few meters from the Kalibo International Airport is ongoing.
The reclamation project also involves the construction of hotels and a business process outsourcing terminal.
It is a public-private partnership project between the provincial government and the Mabuhay Maritime Express Transport, Inc. owned by business magnate Lucio Tan.
Tan himself was the one who went to the capitol to sign the project’s memorandum of agreement, according to Gov. Florencio Miraflores.
“The company has already started its construction at Barangay Pook, Kalibo,” said Miraflores./PN
