ILOILO City – Past 12 noon yesterday, a decomposing body of a man was found in Barangay Cato-ogan, Pototan, Iloilo.

Who was this man? Was he murdered? Did he die of natural causes? The municipal police station was still groping for answers as of this writing.

The body was found near an irrigation canal. The police couldn’t say if the man was killed right on the spot the body was found, or if he was merely dumped there.

The man was 5 feet and 5 inches tall. He was wearing a blue shirt and a pair of violet shorts, according to Senior Inspector Bonifacio Alabe, Pototan police chief.

The man did not have identification papers.

“He could be from another area. Residents of the barangay did not know him,” said Alabe.

An autopsy could determine the man’s cause of death, he added./PN
