ILOILO – A 38-year-old man was shot in Barangay Bagacay, Pototan town at around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Victim Michael Ryan Mendoza was a resident of Barangay Ginacas, Pototan.
Pototan Municipal Police Station (MPS) chief Police Major Roy Tayona said the 50-year-old suspect, Ian Pedroso, of Barangay Bagacay, had an old grudge against Mendoza.
“Ang supect kag biktima may previous grudges. Kun ano man ina wala pa kita kabalo,” said Tayona.
Police recovered a spent .45 pistol shell.
Mendoza was immediately brought to the hospital and is now in stable condition, Tayona said.
“Ang suspect naton arrested na siya mga alas 2:45 sang hapon kahapon sa isa ka barangay diri man mismo sa banwa sang Pototan,” the police chief said.
Pedroso is being held by the Pototan police and would face a frustrated murder charge./PN
