ILOILO – The missing person from Pototan town who was a member of the LGBTQ community was found dead on Monday afternoon, May 15, in Barangay Tinocu-an, Dingle town.
Dave “Bonbon” Ablanzar, 35, of Barangay Iwa Ilaya, Pototan was a call center agent.
The suspects were Andrei Ticar, 20, and the 17-year-old alias “Anton”. They have no police record, according to the Dingle Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Ablanzar’s body was recovered after the suspects surrendered to the police. The victim, wrapped in a blanket, was buried in a sugarcane farm.
Ablanzar was last seen in the evening of May 11 at the town plaza of Pototan.
Police Captain Aileen Lacrite of the Dingle MPS said “Anton” first met Ablanzar on May 8 in Pototan and began interacting online, adding that they invited the victim to a drinking session in the house of Ticar’s grandmother in Dingle.
Around 12:30 a.m. on May 12, the victim allegedly forced “Anton” to have sexual intercourse but the minor refused.
“Nag-kadto sa Dingle ang aton biktima kag nag inom-inom sila. Ang aton nga biktima daw gin hagad nya ang minor didto sa sulod sang kwarto nga gin pilit nga gusto maghilawas pero nag-refuse ang minor, so nag grapple-ay sila…gin buno sang biktima naton ang minor sang kutsilyo,” said Lacrite.
During the struggle, the minor sustained a cut to his hand.
“Nangayo bulig ang minor kag amo to nagsulod ang legal-aged suspect [Ticar], kag gin hampak niya sang martilyo ang biktima sa ulo,” said Lacrite, adding that the suspects then choked the victim to death.
After burying Ablanzar’s body, the two fled using the victim’s motorcycle, which they later abandoned in front of a grocery shop in Jaro, Iloilo City. The two then hid in the house of Ticar’s brother in Pavia before surrendering to the authorities./PN
