BACOLOD City – Power services are set to be disrupted in some parts of Negros Occidental this weekend.
The Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) scheduled a two-day power interruption this Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21, while the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) announced a 12-hour power outage on August 21.
Among the areas set to experience power outages are Bacolod City and Murcia town under the CENECO, and the towns of Calatrava, Manapla and Toboso and the cities of Escalante and San Carlos under the NONECO.
CENECO said the power interruptions this Saturday will start at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, to give way for the maintenance activities to ensure stability of distribution lines to avoid further serious damages that will result to major interruptions.
Meanwhile, NONECO’s power interruption is schedule on Sunday from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. According to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, maintenance activities at Cadiz Substation and along the Bacolod-Cadiz 138 kilovolt line will be conducted.
