BACOLOD City – Some areas here and in Negros Occidental will experience power interruption for three days, Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) announced yesterday.
Maria Agnes Claro, Ceneco officer-in-charge, said the scheduled power outage is due to maintenance activities.
A preventive maintenance and servicing of 30 megavolt ampere (MVA) power transformer and correction of hotspot is scheduled on Dec. 5 from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Affected areas are the whole towns of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto.
On Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a relocation of two 35-foot, three-phase primary concrete poles to lot boundary with one 25-kilovolt ampere (kVa) distribution transformer and accessories will be done in the portion of Barangay Estefania here.
On Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a replacement of three 30-foot rotten open secondary wood poles with three 30-foot steel poles and transfer of secondary assemblies to newly-erected steel poles; and replacement and relocation of one 30-foot open secondary wood pole to lot boundary for safety in parts of this city’s Barangay Bata.
Claro said the three-day maintenance will ensure reliability of distribution lines and avoid further serious damages that will result to major interruptions.
Meanwhile, Claro warned its member-consumer-owners (MCOs) against non-accredited collection centers of Ceneco.
She said that several social media pages emerged online claiming to be a Ceneco-accredited collection agents and accepting bill payments.
She reminded all MCOs to only pay at Ceneco offices or accredited collection centers in banks, malls and Alvio payment centers./PN
