Power pilferage rap vs Iloilo, GenSan natives

BACOLOD City – Three natives of Maasin, Iloilo and one from General Santos City were accused of pilfering electricity.

Police arrested the following suspects in Barangay II (Poblacion), Silay City, Negros Occidental:

* Bonifacio Robles Magana, 39, of Barangay Miapa, Maasin, Iloilo

* Antonio Magana Magate, 21, of the same village

* Simon Ollosa Magana, 37, of Barangay Cananghan, Maasin, Iloilo

* Eliser Mirasol Bañarez, 37, of Villa Consuelo Subdivision, General Santos City

They were charged with violation of Section 2 (Illegal Use of Electricity) of Republic Act 7832, or the Anti-Electricity and Electric Transmission Lines/Materials Pilferage Act of 1994.

Officers served them warrants of arrest at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson-Trocio of the Regional Trial Court Branch 40 in Silay City on July 9 and ordered the suspects to pay P70,000 as bail bond./PN
