CAPIZ – Prices of basic commodities in this province increased this June.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Capiz confirmed it approved the request of some manufacturers last month.
According to Juvy Benliro of DTI-Capiz, 82 basic commodities which included canned goods like sardines, noodles, coffee, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, flour, candles, and detergent, among others, now have higher suggested retail prices.
The increase ranged from two percent to 10 percent and became effective on June 19.
Among the reasons for the price hike was the war in Ukraine and increasing fuel prices.
DTI-Capiz assured the public it will continue to monitor local manufacturers./PN
