KALIBO, Aklan – The local officials are eyeing the construction of a “primary care” hospital in this capital town.
Vice Governor Reynaldo Quimpo said it is now the perfect time for Kalibo to have its own medical facility.
“Majority of the patients in Dr. Rafael S. Tumbukon Memorial Hospital are the poor residents mainly because of their proximity to the provincial hospital,” said Quimpo on Monday.
According to Quimpo, he will push this medical facility project to provide accessible healthcare services to the residents.
Councilor Cynthia Dela Cruz, chairwomen on committee of environment, meanwhile said the local government could earn a revenue of around P80 million from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth).
“Recently, the Duterte administration has enacted the Universal Health Care Law and Kalibo should take advantage of these programs,” said Dela Cruz./PN
