BACOLOD City – A principal in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental met his untimely death when he fell off the roof of the school building.
The 61-year-old Reynaldo Mojares, principal of the Guinpana-an Elementary School, passed away while being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of Riverside Medical Center in this city around 10:25 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31.
Mojares, his wife and co-teachers went to the school on Sunday, July 28, to prepare for the opening of classes the next day.
He climbed a ladder to clean the roof of a school building after he saw a lot of leaves.
Arnold Arnaez, spokesperson for the Department of Education Negros Occidental Schools Division, said when Mojares was about to go down, he accidentally fell off a ladder and hit his head.
In a Facebook post, Guinpana-an Elementary School expressed sadness over the passing of Mojares whom they described as “not only an outstanding educator but also a true inspiration to us all.”
“It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved principal, Sir Reynaldo M. Mojares. This morning, we lost an exceptional leader and colleague whose dedication, kindness, and vision profoundly impacted our school community.”They added: “His commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment helped countless students thrive and succeed. He was always there to offer guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear, making every member of our school feel valued and supported.”
“His achievements and the positive changes he brought about will forever be remembered and cherished. Sir Reynaldo’s legacy will continue to inspire us to strive for excellence and to uphold the values he instilled in us. Rest in peace, Sir Reynaldo M. Mojares.
