ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) will be refusing entry to people not property dressed.
This same policy will also be observed in city and provincial police offices.
The PRO-6, city and provincial police offices are government offices so some form of clothing etiquette or dress code must be observed, stressed Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson.
So what should the transacting public wear or avoid wearing?
Sleeveless shirts, shorts and slippers are not allowed, said Malong, adding that those with transactions in the regional, city and provincial police offices must be “presentable.”
“Bisan indi bag-o ang bayo basta nakadelargo kag naka-shirt and shoes. Kalaw-ay nga nakasando or naka-short ka magsulod sa PRO-6 or sa city and provincial police offices,” said Malong.
This dress code, however, won’t be applied in police stations that should be open to accommodate anyone with concerns, any time, she stressed.
Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) spokesperson Police Captain Shella Mae Sangrines confirmed the new dress code.
“We will not allow those not properly dressed to enter the ICPO. We cater to hundreds of people every day such as those seeking police clearance. They must be presentable,” Sangrines said./PN
