ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) has deployed 247 police personnel to various police stations across Western Visayas.

According to Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, this initiative aims to augment the forces in areas particularly vulnerable to insurgency.

These officers, drawn from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, have been distributed as follows:

* Aklan Police Provincial Office – 20 personnel

* Capiz Police Provincial Office – 20 personnel

* Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 35 personnel

* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – 20 personnel

* Bacolod City Police Office – 20 personnel

* Iloilo City Police Office – 132 personnel

The substantial assignment to the Iloilo City Police Office supports the activation of additional police stations in the city.

The deployment includes three Police Commissioned Officers to the Iloilo City Police Office, with the remaining 244 being Police Non-Commissioned Officers.

“These officers will bolster the manpower of the recipient units, enhancing their capacity to deliver security and public safety services effectively,” said Wanky.

He emphasized that the additional personnel would also support ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order and improve public safety service delivery at the community level.

Wanky also highlighted the expectations set for the deployed officers.

“Our police personnel are expected to aid the stations in their crime prevention and resolution initiatives, and they should remain dedicated to making the community feel secure,” he said.

Furthermore, the officers were cautioned against seeking political patronage regarding their assignments.

“While we are swift to recognize and reward outstanding performance among our personnel, we will not hesitate to discipline those who violate organizational rules or engage in illegal activities,” Wanky added.

Additionally, PRO-6 has provided four Kawasaki Versys 645cc motorcycles to the Antique Police Provincial Office, acquired through the Congress Initiated Changes/Adjustments for Fiscal Year 2023.

“Handle these resources with care so that they may serve us well for a long time. Ensure that these assets are used strictly for official duties,” Wanky said./PN
