ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) will be deploying 601 neophyte police officers across Western Visayas in anticipation of crime upsurge.
With this expectation, all unit commanders, provincial and city directors have been directed to intensify security measures and deploy all available personnel including new policemen for preventive measures, said PRO-6 director, Chief Superintendent Josephus Angan,
Angan said these 601 police officers could enhance police visibility, by itself a crime deterrent.
“We expect upsurge in crimes, particularly against property. Therefore, preventive measures would be applied especially in highly urbanized areas,” Angan said.
He believes that if all police stations would intensify police presence in the field, crimes would be minimized and criminal gangs crippled./PN
