ILOILO – The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) received motorcycles, firearms and ammunition from the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame.
The blessing and turnover ceremony was held on Monday, Feb. 13, coinciding with the 32nd PNP Foundation Day celebration, at Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado here.
The 45 motorcycles were turned over to the following police provincial offices:
* Aklan Police Provincial Office – seven
* Antique Police Provincial Office – nine
* Capiz Police Provincial Office – seven
* Guimaras Police Provincial Office – one
* Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 15
* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – six
Meanwhile, ordnance items received included 600 units of .9mm pistol striker fired rex delta; 10 units of .5.56mm light machine gun NEGE; 30,000 rounds of ammunition for .9mm pistol; and 10,000 rounds of 5.56mm LMG (light machine gun).
The .9mm pistols will be given to new police officers.
According to PRO-6 director, Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, the new equipment will help strengthen police services to the people of Western Visayas.
“I know matagal na nating hinihintay ang mga ito, considering that noong taong 2018 pa ang huling distribution ng mga motor at ibang gamit dito sa ating regional office. With these new additional logistical capabilities I cannot help but expect more achievements and accomplishments in our goal to perform better in order to serve and protect our communities,” said Francisco./PN
