ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) recently conducted a cleanliness maintenance inspection of police stations in this city and in metro Iloilo.
The PRO-6’s Regional Red Team inspected the six police stations under the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) and the Pavia police station.
According to PRO-6 spokesperson, Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, the inspection was in line with Philippine National Police (PNP) General Guillermo Eleazar’s main thrust on the “Intensified Cleanliness Policy” (ICP).
The ICP is anchored on the “broken windows policy” – small problems must be immediately addressed to prevent them from getting worse.
Eleazar added that the policy produced “effective and spectacular” results when first launched in his term as director of the National Capital Region Police Office.
“Dito po ako magpapatupad ng intensified cleanliness policy or ICP ng PNP,” said Eleazar.
Another main objective of the ICP is reformation on the recruitment system to protect the PNP from erring cops and break the culture of wrongdoings among the ranks.
Eleazar said this involves the introduction of a QR (quick response) code in the recruitment process to ensure those entering the service are picked based solely on their qualifications.
Meanwhile, Malong said the PRO-6’s Red Team will continue to conduct inspections in all police stations in the region./PN
