ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) yesterday launched the revitalized Philippine National Police (PNP) KASIMBAYANAN (Kapulisan, Simbahan, at Pamayanan) program.

According to PRO-6 spokesperson, Police Major Mary Grace Borio, the PNP KASIMBAYANAN is a community mobilization program, highlighting the synergized and collaborative partnership between the police and the general public through the intervention and help of the religious sector towards the holistic transformation of the PNP and the community it serves and protects.

The program further highlights the interplay among three important sectors by transforming PNP members into community-based bridge builders to increase community involvement in preempting, preventing and solving crimes.

“This is a good program for the community and with the intervention of the religious sector,” Borio said.

Maria Calpiza Sardua, assistant regional director of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 6, graced the event.

“Thank you PRO-6 for spearheading this undertaking and congratulations for the successful launching of this KASIMBAYANAN and to our partners from the different religious leaders here present. I am looking really at a beautiful life ahead because everybody is involved, including the cooperation and support of the community. This time, tulong-tulong tayo towards the maintenance of peace and order,” Sardua said.

“From regional DILG, rest assured that we will be giving you our full support. Tulong-tulong po tayo upang maabot ang layunin ng programang ito. Sama-sama tayong mamuhay sa mapayapa, maayos at maunlad na bansa. Life is beautiful… Ang pangarap n’yo ay pangarap ko rin,” she added.

Monsignor Meliton B. Oso, Pastor Richard Lee Martin Sr., Ustadsz Jerry Macala, and Winefredo “Ka Winnie” Doblizo Jr. were also present from the religious sector and signed the pledge of commitment board to show their support for the program./PN
