Around 278 wanted persons were arrested by the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) in one week.
According to the PRO-6, a total of 251 police operations resulted in 41 wanted-persons arrests and the other 237 not in the wanted list. Fifty-seven operations were conducted against illegal drugs, resulting in 22 arrests. Meanwhile, police made 214 arrests for illegal gambling, and 22 arrests for illegal firearms.
More than 100 firearms and explosives were confiscated. From April 19 to 25, the province of Negros Occidental recorded the highest number of police operations against illegal drugs, illegal gambling and loose firearms. The province of Iloilo took the most number of wanted-persons arrests and seizure of firearms and explosives. PRO-6 Spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong attributed these accomplishments to their Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) program.
Malong added that the PRO-6 will enhance operations against criminals especially on illegal firearms and wanted persons.
