ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is now monitoring four criminal gangs in the region – three from Negros Occidental and one from Iloilo Province.
Colonel Giovanni Musico, head of PRO-6’s Regional Intelligence Division (RID), said these groups are in their target list for operations.
Musico said some members of the groups have pending arrest warrants.
“We have targets especially those who have pending arrest warrants. They are our priority,” Musico told Panay News.
The police are also checking the records of the remnants of criminal gangs and their movements for possible regrouping are being monitored.
RID personnel are currently coordinating with the provincial police directors on the arrest of the remnants of criminal gangs ahead of the 2025 midterm elections, Musico added.
Earlier, PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky expressed worries that those wanted persons who remained at large would be used as goons by some politicians.
“Our focus for now is to run after wanted persons and loose firearms. We have to neutralize those who have pending cases and holding unlicensed firearms,” Wanky said./PN
