ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has apprehended 393 individuals for illegal gambling in May this year.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, said different police units across the region had carried out 141 operations which also led to the recovery of bet money amounting to a total of P153,000.
Also in the same month, the PRO-6 highlighted its significant accomplishment in the campaign against loose firearms.
Wanky said 61 individuals were arrested from 58 police operations.
It also resulted to the confiscation of 77 assorted firearms and 55 explosives.
Additionally, under the soft hand approach, 321 assorted firearms and 45 explosives were either voluntarily surrendered or deposit.
Wanky lauded the operating units and expressed his gratitude to these dedicated personnel of PRO-6 as well as the supportive communities./PN
