ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has begun accepting applications for those aspiring to join the Philippine National Police (PNP), with 360 slots available under the first recruitment attrition quota for the year.

According to PRO-6 director, Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the recruitment process is strictly merit-based, and any attempt to engage in the “padrino system” or backdoor recommendations will not be tolerated.

PRO-6 is looking to recruit 360 new officers, with 20 percent of the positions reserved for female applicants.

The recruitment is necessary to fill vacancies caused by personnel deaths, retirements, and dismissals from service.

The following are the minimum qualifications an applicant must meet:

* citizen of the Philippines

* of good moral character

* height: at least five feet for females and five feet two inches for males

* a graduate of a baccalaureate degree with corresponding eligibility

* between 21 to 30 years old

* not dishonorably discharged from military employment or dismissed for a cause from any civilian position in the government

* not convicted by final judgment of an offense / crime involving moral turpitude

* pass the psychiatric / psychological, drug and physical tests

Documents required for submission are the following:

* Philippine Statistics Authority-certified birth certificate

* transcript of records and diploma (duly authenticated by the school registrar)

* certificate of eligibility (duly authenticated by the issuing office)

* photocopy of two valid identification cards

Wanky highlighted adjustments in the height requirements for applicants. Females are now eligible with a minimum height of five feet, a reduction from the previous standard of five feet two inches.

For males, the minimum height has been lowered from five feet four inches to five feet two inches.

Wanky also emphasized that the recruitment process is free of charge, warning against individuals who may offer assistance in exchange for money.

“I would like to remind applicants that there are no fees when applying. Do not approach anyone offering help in exchange for money,” he said.

The starting salary for newly hired Patrolmen or Patrolwomen is P29,668 per month.

Applications are being accepted at the PRO-6 headquarters in Camp Delgado, Iloilo City./PN
